The Farsighted installation –

The eye and its symbolic power have always had a special significance in different regions and cultures. The works from the Radiance series transform

them into a modern, contemporary form and reflect them critically, turning the eye itself into the beholder. These are not just fine-art photographs, all these handmade installations contain something hidden, unexpected and unexplainable. Through the use of different technologies, the mysticism is questioned at the same time but also reinforced. 

The subtle vision attributed to the eye is brought into a real, immediate and understandable form in which it responds to external, concrete and global events. The installation “Farsighted’’ even responds to changes in the socio-political climate worldwide.

There is a secret list in which everyday words have been classified as “good” and “evil” by an international group. The interactive installation independently assesses the occurrence of these words on the front pages of leading international newspapers and reacts to it by changing its appearance. Other pairs of eyes do not respond to these words, but to changes in stock markets, air-pollution, and shows celebrity tweets.

As a result, the mystical powers attributed to the eye are, to some extent, captured by reality. However, the direct assignment of reactions to concrete events was deliberately avoided, the mystical and mysterious symbolic power of the changes are thus maintained and preserved.
