I had always wanted to experience the UK, but the trip was all about to run to completion. A day before the trip I woke up to a call from my partner John, telling me that our trip was over. A trip that I had always been looking forward to, but the travel planner was just not done.

John had been working at Lonely Planet for just under a year; we were to be our own travel planners and had gone out and done another “office”. I remember thinking that what makes a big difference is that you’re not just a traveler, but someone who’ll help set your future travel, a person who has a real interest in your vision.
